LGBTQIA+ Therapy

LGBTQIA+ affirming therapy provides a space where individuals of diverse sexual orientations and gender identities can explore their experiences in a way that is respectful, informed, and nonjudgmental. This type of therapy recognizes that mental health concerns are often shaped not only by personal history, but also by the impact of societal stigma, discrimination, and minority stress.

In this space, clients will work to better understand patterns in their thoughts, emotions, and relationships while also exploring aspects of identity such as sexual orientation, gender identity, and self-expression. Therapy can support individuals in navigating coming out, building affirming relationships, addressing family or cultural dynamics, and processing experiences of invalidation or marginalization.

It emphasizes collaboration, respect for each person’s lived experience, and the creation of a supportive environment where clients can process challenges, build a stronger sense of self, and move toward a more authentic and fulfilling life.

DBT Coaching

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) combines CBT with mindfulness and acceptance-based strategies to help individuals cope with emotional dysregulation, interpersonal issues, and self depricating behaviors. DBT focuses on teaching four main skills: mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotional regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness. Through talk therapy and skills training, individuals learn to recognize and accept their emotions, develop skills to manage emotional dysregulation, and improve their relationships with others. DBT has been shown to be effective in reducing self-harm, depression, anxiety, and borderline personality disorder symptoms, and can be a valuable tool for anyone struggling with emotional difficulties.

EMDR
